So your customer wants smart home switches, but doesn’t know which to buy, and how to install them. Here is a guide on how to install smart home switches using the Infinite Smart Switch 2 as an example.

Installation guide for smart home switches:

Installing the Infinite Smart Home Switches can be broken down into simple steps. 

Before installing, ensure you read the individual product’s guides carefully for safety and warranty purposes.

  1. Shut off main circuit breaker and ensure wires are not short circuited
  2. Use a wire stripper to cut the metallic part of the connection wire, ensuring it is about 5mm
  3. Strip the cord sheath and insulation
  4. Prepare flex cord as required for the installation
  5. Slip the brushing over the flex cord
  6. Loose the terminal screws and ensure enough space to insert cord conductor
  7. Connect wires correctly and double check all the connection
  8. Ensure bare wires are fully inserted into the terminal and there are no loose strands of wire
  9. Ensure wires and terminals are adequately tightened to Australian standards
  10. Make sure all conductors are tightened properly by terminal screws
  11. Make sure neutrals are connected - N& LN must not loop anywhere
  12. Install a gang box if installation is non-insulated or surface mounted
    1. Connect all cables and place switch inside and towards the back of the gang box
    2. Reinstall the switch to the gang box
    3. Reinstall the cover onto the gang box
  13. Turn on the power at the circuit breaker or fuse
